I Believe in Miracles..... I know that I CAN do this... but if I do... it will be a miracle... but that's ok, because I believe in miracles.

OK... I didn't do it...

Haven't been to YOGA...I really do LOVE it! It is just sooooooo hard for me to get out of "stuff" on Sunday afternoon.... And then there is Wednesday.... I teach on Tuesday night and don't get home til after 9:00 p.m. When I leave before 6:30 am.... that makes for a long day. So.... I either stay late again on Wednesday or come home and go back... So far neither has happened! Ugh! I made 5 hours on Saturday. I felt good and could have gone on, but I OBEYED my coach! Then I got back to the tent, got in my pool, and poured on the ice! SHIVER! I Can do THIS! Count Down upon us! Glad I finally got company in my pool. You know the truck now..l.. so help yourself if I am not back yet. ICE Rocks.... I have found that I do not have to take HOT HOT HOT showers and baths any more .............................................................................................................................................................********************************************************************************************* THINGS GREAT ABOUT BEING THE SLOWEST ON THE LongSaturdayRun/Distance...********************************************************** It is SOOOOOO easy to find your keys in the box. You get all the leftovers and don't have to worry that someone will have to go with out BREAD Those left want to go home.... so.... They are REALLY GLAD to see you! You can usually name all those behind you (if there are any!) Your car is easy to find in the parking lot. Not many there to worry about running over because you are somewhat "out of it" ..... more later when I think of them.... I have some... they just don't want to come out right now.

Accountability!!!

Acountability 101 ..... OK.... do I start with my excusses? Beginning of the semester BLUES! Last week was registration and meetings.... NO SLEEP! This week... first class meetings! I am teaching a Math course on Tuesday nights this semester (I am still here... have one student left working......) I will probably work straight through most Tuesdays. I did NOT get up and walk / run this morning. Can't let that happen again! Tuesdays make it way too hard to fit in. If I do my morning then MAYBE I can squeeze in an afternoon 20 or 30 or even just 15 before my night class at 6:00, but CAN't depend on it! I have been eating better. AND I have committed to NO alcohol for the next 7 weeks. I don't drink a LOT... but I do like my margarita (espesially after registration week) DRINKING LOTS OF WATER! I plan to go to the YOGA tomorrow! FINALLY! WE are in the count down.... I have started recruiting for the "short plan" MM group for 1/2 Mississippi Blues and think I have several takers.... I am pumped!!!

THANKS

thanks......

Slump....

I am really in a slump... don't know why... I have so much to be thankful for. I am healthy! I do not want to do ANYTHING!

If you can't "Put yourself first" ... at least... "Put yourself on EQUAL footing..."

Here is part of an article I was reading from "Sparkpeople". It hit home with me and I don't even have children at home like so many of you. I think we all get caught up in the "finding time" issue. I have read about it in several blogs... just thought I'd share. Put Yourself First Reach Other Goals by Starting With Your Self -- By Rebecca Pratt, Staff Writer SparkPeople Sponsors help keep the site free! If “putting yourself first” (a common admonition) sounds too selfish or too hard, try something simpler: put yourself on an equal footing with those you love and tend to. Do you insist that they get enough sleep? Start making that a priority for yourself too. Do you give them time for fun and socializing with friends? Then you do the same! Remember Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs: human beings must meet their basic needs before they can move on to higher-level goals. Since most of us already know that we should take care of ourselves—but often have trouble figuring out how to do it, here are some guidelines for getting there: Preserve your physical health with adequate sleep, exercise, and nutrition. Value your emotional health as much as the physical, with a support system of friends and a willingness to laugh—especially at yourself. Schedule fun activities on a regular basis—it’s just as important to plan pleasure as it is to plan work. Identify “busy behaviors” (or people) that drain your time and energy but aren’t really important, then dump ‘em, or at least minimize their hold on you. Kill two birds with one stone, combining family time with exercise, for example, which benefits everyone involved. Try to look at the problems in your life with new eyes to find solutions. If you’re a new mom, for instance, see if you can trade childcare with another new mom to get some time for yourself. Learn to say “No!” Your “yes” is valuable and should not be automatic. Instead, reserve it for the things that are most important to you. Don’t try to change every problem area in your life all at once. Start with one or two items, then expand as you get things under control. Your life should be like a checking account, balancing out on a regular basis so that you always have assets to draw upon. By making even small deposits—taking care of yourself with a 10-minute walk or a nutritious meal—you’ll be amazed at the interest you’ll reap. here's the link if you want to read the whole thing. http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/Wellness_articles.asp?id=484&page=1

Neat website with lots of good info..

Here is a great website. You have to join, but it is free. I do not get a lot of excess trash mail from it. There are all sorts of calculators etc for you use. Food and water trackers as well as exercise. You can form teams and pages similar to our MM blogs etc. I have been getting the emails and reading articles for a year or so now and love the recipes etc too. Just thought I'd share. You can earn points for follow through if you happen to be competitive... Join me at: SparkPeople.com

Get a Free Online Diet My registration name there is "MSEDUC8N" ... That is my email address and "EDUC8N" was my car tag for years .... It is supposed to be MS (Mississippi) EDUC8N (Educatin' ... as in teaching...) My cousin told me last year at a family reunion that it looked like mmmmmmmmm SEDUCTION.... to her! I was shocked... never even thought of that. any way.... just needed to clear that up for everyone... Hope you'll enjoy this website as much as I do! Lisa

I spent last week in Oxford with my daughter. She always has a list of "PROJECTS" for me to work on. In between getting her wisdom teeth out and playing "MOMMY" to her recovery... I painted furniture, shopped for new stuff for her townhouse, and did a little "artwork" painting too. Thought I'd share. This one is "the girls"... did two fish to match the bathroom and then an abstract Col Reb with some Oxford stuff.

A good time was had by all! ...

The party was mahhhhvelous! I think everyone had a great time. ... EVEN the "BUTTS"... who have now been adequately labeled I had EVERY intension of going to the YOGA class yesterday. I knew my body needed the stretching. I went to church, ate lunch, and thought I'd rest a bit in front of some Law & Order. WeLLLLL, I dosed off and realized I did not make the class! I am going to try on Wednesday. Not sure if I will be able to stick with the Wednesday once school starts. I will just have to see... OF COURSE I have to get there first to see if I can stick with it! Remember that this next Saturday is the GEL TAsting at Fleet Feet. Since our short run is there... guess I may have to hit Beagle Bagle and then try some out. Hope everyone has a great week.
